I got stuck with the alternator charge warning light out issue. A few days ago, the alternator charge warning light was occasionally on during driving. I thought it was caused by the faulty alternator and replaced it(it was a tough job). Then, I got the other problem. The light kept off, even though ignition key switch turned to the position II (Please note I could start the motor and the light was still off).

I made sure no fuse out. The light itself and the replaced alternator are ok. I could not figure out the cause. I really need someone’s help. On the current condition, I can not drive mine out from my garage anticipating sudden battery out during driving.

Not a good sign for the new alternator. You might:

    1. Compare the battery voltage before turning the key "on" to the battery voltage with the engine running = would confirm/deny if the new alternator is actually charging the battery.

    2. There should be a GN (yellow-black) wire(s) connected to the top of fuse #1, #2, or #3. This wire should be +12V relative to ground with the key "on". However, please also give your year/version/model "308GTSi" shown in your profile as "308GTSi" can mean anything from a 1980 308GTSi to a 1983 308QV. (You can decode your VIN at www.red-headed.com if you are not sure.)
