I often open the bonnet on my gt4 to attach the battery tender. Over the last couple of years the amount that I have had to pull the release leaver has got greater and greater.

Today I popped the bonnet and one side (passenger (RHD)) only just made it before the leaver completely ran out of 'pull'. Soon i fear that it will not open at all and I'll have to resort to the emergency cord in the glove box.

Anyone give me an idea of how to adjust this - I could take it to the workshop but I'd rather not pay for something that is probably trivial.

    Thanks.

As far as I'm aware, there's no adjuster like there is with the clutch and handbrake. You might get more luck on the Technical Q&A forum?

Under each side of the bonnet lock are cables which have small grub screw fastners. Ie one like the emergency one. the tend to slip in time hence pulling lever more. You need to pull cables back and retighten. Simple job but a pain in the A**** have done mine in the past. Good Luck. Put a search or post on tech site should find some pictures, sorry I don't have any pictures easily to hand.

Andy. I have the exact same problem when I plug in my GT4 for a nightly 240v feed. Can't work out how to adjust. Please let me know how you get on.

Do you guys use a battery tender on your GT4s?

With mine, if the ignition is off, it's only running the clock. No alarm or immobiliser.
