anyone know if the cam sprockets are interchangable? I have a 78 308 with the glassfibre sprockets and would like to upgrade to the metal sprockets used in the later cars...can I just pick up a set off of an 80-82 "I" car and bolt them up? Nick's has an aluminum set with the tensioners bearings for a pretty heafty price...would prefer factory parts.

Bill @ GT Car Parts sells the aluminum ones for $600 - 800 per set (of 4). IIRC, the OEM [plastic] ones are $1600.

Frank Capo at Modena Engineering in Melbourne makes the full vernier type.

The std sprockets only have 3 or 5 holes in them, but the factory sprint cams had the multi hole pulleys.(about 20 holes?).

If you're going to put some on, I'd use Franks.
