My carbed 308 restore is completed. I like the car very much, but there still is a small issue, that doesn't allow me to enjoy at 100% that wonderful car: the carbs alignment.

The carbs were redone, perfecty work, but one bank opens before the other so we have that cylinders 1234 pulls cilinders 5678 (or viceversa, who knows). The problem is bigger when you push the throttle close to idle RPM: on higher RPM the problem is much smaller, of course. It's not a big problem, but after so many money spent I want to solve and eliminate that small problem too. Now it just work perfectly at idle and at WOT.

I hired a carburator specialist (he usually works on Lamborghini carbed cars) and he will do the work in the next weeks, but I would like to know if there is some tips or things to know: It's always better to know in person, also if you have the work done by a specialist.

Any tips is welcome: thank you very much

    ciao

What you describe, are carburettor synchronization and adjustment basics. Since it's neither black magic nor rocket sciene, I'm sure, that your Lamborghini specialist will make your car run perfectly.
When the carbies were redone. Did you replace the throttle bearings with sealed ones? This is IMHO the best thing, one can do to these 40DCNF.
And did they restake the thirtysomething lead plugs? Second important thing when rebuilding these carbs. I did this ten years ago and they are still bone-dry.

    Best Regards
    Martin

everything done today: pictures show carburators specialist Carlo Sgarbi while synchronizing and tuning my carbs. The front bank carbs opened before the rear bank ones due to a bad leverage adjustment. Now the engine turns like a clock: I'm too happy!

    Thanks, Antonino.

At first he fixed the alignment problem, then he tuned the carbs workin on the various screws was the one that rebuilt the carbs.

    Great!
It's always good to know and understand, what one's mechanic does with one's car.

    Congrats!
