That's the way to do it. Mine turned out great. Hope your's do as well.
Hope you're feeling better before re-assembly. Bending over and puking on your new carpet sure would be a slap in the face!

Great pics! That's going to be a nice looking interior when you get it done. It only took you a couple hours to get the carpet in? That's pretty quick. Any hard spots other than right behind the door?

Sorry, kind of picking your brain. I'm tearing mine apart and parts will be going to the shop in about 2 weeks. In the meantime I'll be doing the carpet. Can't wait to get it all done!!

The hard parts for me was around the front hood pull and getting the rear firewall centered.

When cutting the carpet for the hood pull, cut a small oval and make it bigger as you go. Cutting an oval will keep the corners from tearing. Also, the screw that holds the plate in is at a 90 degree angle, not a 45 :). I spend about 20 minutes trying to jam the screw up at an angle only to realize it just goes straight in.

For the firewall, have someone help you. That was really my issue. The carpet kept folding down and messing up my work. A quick tip is once you have it centered, reattach the seatbelt to the firewall to help hold it in place.

Also, has Jerry said, Lay the carpet in the sun for awhile.

I did not have an issue with the two pieces behind the seats. It was a hot day so the glue set pretty quick. Just keep the original pieces for this area handy for referrence.

I am going to get the center console today and get that installed so more pic's to follow

Installed the center console and hill pedals.

Boy am I NEVER installing the pedals again.

I had no trouble drilling the holes, I had more of a hard time hitting my head on the wheel.

And no Daniel, I did not see in the instructions to put down some newspaper until after I drilled the holes. ;)

2 hours for the console reinstall and 45 minutes for the pedal plus 3 broken drill bits.

    Looks really good!!!

I like the idea of having the leather re-done rather than re-dyeing it. I think it looks a lot better that way. Also less of a PITA!

Please PM me when you are going to bring it down to CC - Would love to see it in real life!

    Well done.

    Thanks Jerry!

Re-dyeing is cheaper but I have to agree, getting the the center console redone was so much easier. The leather on the seats is fine to that is just being re-dyed. I can't wait to get it back on the road.

It's looking like the 5th or the 19th of November based on my schedule.

I will keep you posted when I can get down there.

    Matt

    There was a delay. :(

They could not finish the seats yesterday or today and they said they would be done tomorrow and of course I need to go to Denver. They are going to finish them in the interm and have them ready @ 8 am on Saturday for me.

The hang up is/was the piping. seems the red is a hard color to match.

Pic's will be posted on Sat. They still need to redo the door panels as well still

    Sorry about the delay.

I did get the seats last last sat. I got them installed and I still need to take pic's. I will tomorrow and post them. The seats came out fine. I think next year I will get the leather redone. I don't like how the seats feel. They feel like they were spray painted, which, in a sense, they were. I got my $250 dollars worth. At least I can say that. I recommend that unless your seats are really bad and you are really good at arts and crafts like Jerry or Mike, I would just get them professionally redyed or simply redone in new leather. All in all the whole project cost $2300 and I really have nothing to show for it except new carpet, new center console (which I really like) and spray painted seats.

I will post pic's in the morning.

Well I got my lazy ass up and took pic's

The seats look a different color then the center console but it does not look like that in person. I think the flash is showing off the shade pigment.

I need new floor mats. The original tan ones look kinda weird with the dark carpet.

Thanks. Let me know if you need any hope with something or parts sourcing. I can quote part numbers, cost, location and bin on the shelf of almost everything inside a 308!
