I have not found a manual yet.

Has someone created a soft copy of the procedure to adjust the clutch? Or can someone put up some photo copies?

Unless someone wants to sell me a paper manual, I have been told they are much better than a cd or after market.

    Thanks

If nobody has one already scanned, i will scan page D7 of the GT4 manual i have and post it.

It isn't real complicated, but very hard to describe without a drawing.

The helper spring must be over center on the down side by 1/4" at center by adjusting the cable linkage, then once that is set, you adjust the rod connecting the fulcrum lever to throw out bearing lever until you get a bout 3/4" travel in the clutch pedal before TO bearing engages pressure plate fingers.

Sounds easy, but your right, a picture is worth a thousand words.

    Thanks for the post.

I've just replaced the clutch and pressure plate on my '79 308. When I follow the directions on D7 of the GT4 manual and align the hole on the lever with the hole on the housing using the clutch cable adjustment; then adjust the tie rod so that it can connect to the lever, it acts like a toggle switch. One step on the clutch peddle and the spring has gone the wrong side of center leaving a dead peddle and slack in the clutch cable.

If I back off so that the spring won't go the wrong side of center the clutch doesn't seem to completely disengage when I step on the clutch peddle (I can't shift with engine running. It seemed fine when I was torquing the transfer gears - I would turn the crank with clutch peddle out and it turned free with clutch peddle pushed down). If I tweak it a little more to try to get the clutch to completely disengage, it's back to the toggle switch effect.

Anybody have any idea of what's going on???? please?

Okay, the tie rod needed to be adjusted a whole lot more than I thought. Working great now... didn't know how bad I needed a new clutch until I replaced it...
