I put a new clutch plate, pressure plate and throw out bearing (from superformance) on my '75 308 GT4 in October 2006. The clutch started feeling funny in January 2007 (after 3000 miles) and the cable broke soon after that.
After installing the new cable, the clutch felt fine for about 500 miles, but then developed a grating feel at the end of the pedal travel when warm (It feels fine when cold.) At idle the clutch becomes so stiff and jagged it is almost impossible to do any parking maneuvring. When driving it feels better, but it seems to engage too close to the floor. After endless attempts at greasing the cables and adjusting the levers, I don't know what to do to anymore!
Has the pressure plate gone bad after just 3500 miles?
Can I just change the pressure plate and leave the other near new parts in?
    Any input will be appreciated,

    Rocco

I had the same problem with my GT4's clutch cable. When you replace the cable, be sure to lubricate the cable thoroughly. I removed the new cable and relubed it several times before I was happy. After that, readjust. Regarding the clutch assembly, personally, I would replace all the components. Be sure to examine all internal components for wear and anything that would catch or bind the clutch's operation.
