I'm doing this now, but the "poor man's version." From Forza magazine.

It's the abbreviated version, change the lever to 116472 and drill the pedal to change the spring.

    Forza #25 Oct. 2000.

I was wondering as I have both and the original set-up is 3 times easier than the update.

Your original lever and clutch return spring is easier than the updated level and helper spring?
Sounds like something else is going on.

It will be hard for me to tell for sure, because I am putting in an AP clutch at the same time. If it get's any stiffer, I'll eject when I release the clutch... lucky I have a GTS.

My original GT4 had a mix of parts when I replaced the clutch and switched all the parts out back to OEM, the new car I got has the updated version and all the parts on the outside are correct as per the bulletin. I dont have time or inclination to remove the bell housing to look inside but I am sure it has the correct parts. I really like the original set-up which takes like I said 1/3 of the pressure. I used to think it was heavy! Also the new set-up has no free play which seems weird to me. The only positive is I can use the ultra heavy clutch as an excuse not to let anyone drive the car! Which I did successfully for 20 years on the other car!

Does anyone have this mysterious Forza magazine article as a PDF? I’m trying to do this update too but no one is posting the necessary info...

Just to reiterate. I have spent thousands of dollars and countless hours trying to get both cars back to stock. My experiences with a half measure and full upgrade were horrible. That is just my two cents.......
