I jumped, well ok fell into my 77 308 today & pushed the passenger DEF lever instead of the choke level & quickly broke it off the console! Am I correct that I just take out ashtray insert & remove screws there along with screws from shift plate & the console will lift out? Any advise & good source for the DEF control assembly will be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Bill

Hey Bill. Did you get your belts and everything sorted out? How's the car running now?

There are probably lots of places that have the levers. If you just broke the plastic knob off you can find them pretty easy. The whole lever assembly is available here..http://www.italiancarparts.com/parts/ferrariparts.html#switches

Daniel at Ricambi may be able to get you one...http://www.ricambiamerica.com/index.php

Or try Ferrari UK they may have them.

Wherever you find them be prepared for sticker shock. They are spendy little units!!

Have you checked out the sticky top thread in the "Classic" section yet. There are a ton of good links and numbers there!

That panel is held in with only the screws under the ashtray and two tabs at the rear of the panel. You can lift slightly and gain resonable access to replace the part you desire.

    Thanks Sue & John,
I very carefully lifted out the console as per Sue & with a little super glue put the bezel back together. That'll work great for now if I can remember:
    "DON"T TOUCH IT"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Need lots of other things such as floor mats, cover, grill horse, maybe a bushing or shock or 2 before I spend $200 on passenger heater lever.
    thanks again
    Bill
