The switches are made by Lucas, and I believe for some (like the antenna switch) no longer made. Whatever stock is left was probably made years ago. I would buy while you can still get them!

Have you tried taking it apart to clean the contacts? No amount of spray contact cleaner is going to remove corrosion from copper contacts. You will need to manually clean them with fine sandpaper.

Single pole Lucas switches are redily available in the UK from a number of suppliers for about $6-$10. The switch has a long straight lever, but the round button can be transferred onto the switch from yours and it would look just right.

Trouble is the hazard warning will probably require a two pole change over switch, I will keep an eye out for a sourch on these. In the mean time his could be done with a $10 electonics relay, or even a pair of $3 auto relays...

Take a 12V supply from somewhere, to the single pole switch, then the switched supply to the relay(s) (which are nothing more than remote control switches) then earth the realy. Connect the original wiring to the relay switch side. The relays can be taped up and put inside the centre console out of sight and left as a reversible patch repair...

It's actually a 3 pole switch, with one of them having an additional NC connection - 7 wires in all. Still, it's doable.

Wonderful help received! Thanks a million...I guess the 1st step would be to "open" the little black box and see what can be cleaned before I contact Daniel at Ricambi. And you are right, there are 7 wires!!!

Ahh well thats what happens when I guess... I didn't have a wiring chart with me. That is a fairly unusual switch, three pole, one change over set and two simple make break.

But in principle, what I suggested before would still work if you use three auto relays, instead of two, to mimic those connections sets (ie: one relay with change over, two relays simple on off switching). That would do the job, for a fraction of the switch cost you've been quoted.

It is probable easier to work with the auto relays, as the wires will plug into them and the original wiring will not have to be modified. It will then be reversable in the future. Put some labels on things, to aid memory!

    Good luck, whatever you decide.
