Hi All, need to replace the coolant tubes that run through the chassis from front to back, does this require engine removal to withdraw the tubes via the empty engine bay?

Yes they are moved from the engine bay. I dont see how you could get them out with the engine in place. If you are not reusing them you could potentially cut off the 90 degree elbow in the engine bay then pull them forward. You may have to cut them into segments as you go as there is probably not the room to pull them out intact. The replacement with a flexible hose would be a logical solution.

Removing my coolant tubes was very difficult. Turned out there were some protrusions into the tunnel that were binding the top tube in place. Should have removed bottom tube first. They look to be the back end of rivets or welding slag from the area around the parking brake but were too far in to reach and remove. I could imagine over time these could damage the aluminum tube to the point it leaked.
