My '85 Euro 308 has never needed to be towed/flatbedded but you never know! The deep spoiler on mine doesn't seem to have a tow ring/hook anywhere. The manual shows one for the standard front spoiler. Anyone else have this issue and what is the solution? Thanks.

Remove the grill and use the bumper supports/mounts with a nice thick towel to stop the rope/strap damaging the bumper

Now is the time to install a tow ring!

That's a Euro, the bumper supports are ~1" tubing, about the same as 1" conduit.

There's a good chance that your car has the tow ring, just the cutout was never made in the spoiler.

Unfortunately, you'll have to pull the spoiler to find out. Once you have the spoiler off, if you don't have one, it'll be easy to get one made & welded on.

Meanwhile, if the car needs to be tied down on a flat bed, best bet is to run the tie-down straps thru the lower front A-Arms. Actually, that's probably the safest in general, as the tow ring is off-center.

As always, Verell is spot on. Bet you have the underneath tow hook on the passenger side (in LHD car) underneath. As for towing hold down, like Verell said use the lower A arm for towing hold down. The fronts are straight on, the rears i cross to the trailer D rings to eliminate side sway.

Impactco, for towing/pulling and if you use the bottom ring it may indeed damage the deep Euro aero. Had my local mechanic shop fabricate front (and rear) tow rings as the car is tracked a lot. Basically it is a round tube and they welded on a tow ring so it is a one-piece unit. It goes over the stock Euro bumper tube. There is a hole in the fabricated tow ring's tube so that the stock bumper hold down bolt goes through it to secure the tow ring to the bumper's hold down bolt.

Some pics below. The front needed zero mods, the rear tow ring we had to make a small slit in the bumper for clearance.

OK, I have been towed (faltbed only of course) a few times so I will share some info....your deep spoiler has two issues: 1) it will scrape at the angle going up most jerri-tran flatbeds...the tow-guy must put 2x6's infront of the front and rear wheel to give it a lift ( most carry these) if not...while the car is being winched up I literally pull up on the bumper in front to lift it the ich or so and then run to the rear and do the same to avoid the tailpipes from scrathching...be VERY CAREFUL and only kinda do this from the side...that winch cable is under a lot of tension and ou want to be clear of it should it break loose. 2) tow hooks, these are ok for straight on towing off a track with a tow vehicle pulling it straight from the front...this off-center tow hook will also be a PIA for the tow operator as it is offcenter the car when winched will keep drifiting over forcing the operatior to keep running over to the cockpit and turning the wheel over ( you don't want this to happen.. it is dangerous, constant corrections when the car is winched is not good) the operator will get realy pissed off at you and your car and each time he goes into the cockpit to make a sterrign correction he will get rougher and roughr on the car...that expensive headlight stalk is very vulnerable...lastly, the A-arms or better straps throught he wheels must be used asa tie down..never teh tow hook....when the trck goes over a bump the car has to spring freely to avoid damage....OTH, I have had operators terrified and refusing to "pull" or winch a exotic or any old car from anything but the tow hook ( stories of damage or actully ripping out the suspension were their reason) whatever you do.tip these operators well and watchout for everything they do to your car -- my 2 cents
    good luck

NYC, have seen a tow operator (by accident of course) rip off the front suspension of a Subie at the track. It was a mess!

Thx, though the credit goes to a pro photographer. He really did a great job and the angle of the Sunoco sign is pretty much perfectly aligned with the rear angle of the 308.

Yup, alum rad from Fchat sponsor Nick Forza and stock fans. Between the alum rad and Jet-Hot header coating (plus removing AirCond junk blocking the rad) the car now runs about 15C cooler on the track. She was a touch too hot during two summer events last year before the mods and knew i wanted to get temps in control. Hottest day track event this year after mods she tops out at 95C coolant and 105C oil... very good place to be.

OT (with apologies) As a side note... look at the closeup front photo with the HELLA 'foglights.' Those are actually Hella fog light plastic bodies used as air ducts and have attached 2-inch air ducts running to brake calipers (thx for the help Fchatter Scott!). Have wire mesh attached to the Hella plastic body and two sets of white covers with one being full closed and one having about 1.5-inch hole so can have no cooling or tape off part of it. This allows for very small, 'normal,' or full cooling. So far even on the hottest day (90F, sunny) have only 'needed' the small hole cover. If i ever race in Florida on a 110F sunny day and when i up the TQ/HP she is ready for it. As you know, cooking the brakes is not a good thing.

Always glad to help and on a side note, if the car is hot after track runs be careful not to touch that silver colored tube by the tow hook with bare hand(s) as it runs coolant to the rear of the car. Temps can be upwards of 110C depending on your operating heat at the time.

Your 2 cents are very much appreciated along with all the other info! I have never looked UNDER the spoiler for the hook - you learn something everyday about these cars. Thanks!
