I have been hunting around the forum and got bits and tips from other posts, but thought perhaps summing it all up would help me best figure out what is going on.

I have never had electrical issues with my car for 7 years.

After getting my brakes fixed and an oil change, I drove the car home and noticed that the turn signals did not work. My mechanic suggested that I flip the hazards several times and that seemed to get the directionals to work once, but then not again.

Then a few days later, I was out driving and realized all window switches were dead (all three) and that my wipers were dead too.

    WTF?????????

What amp/size fuses do I need to buy? What else does everyone suggest I check? I have a multimeter if needed.

    thanks, Marc

I just found this post: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=85415&highlight=308+window+fuse

In it, it states the following:

"Have you also confirmed that the bottom terminal leaving fuse #1 is at +12V during attempted window operation?

Are other things served/enabled by that same fuse #1 (turn signals, wipers, brake lights, etc.) working OK?"

So are the windows, wipers and turn signals all somehow connected via Fuse #1. I will go and check that fuse???

But still don't know what fuse to buy and exactly where????

    thanks, Marc

okay... this sums it up. probably the easiest fix possible.

Fuse #1 (the leftmost) was burnt out. I popped it out and the top metal cap fell off. Its a 16A Euopean fuse. Not uncommon and certainly available.

I took out the rear defrost fuse (#4, also 16A) and put it into fuse #1 and all was fixed.

Fuse #1 apparently kills, directionals, wipers, brake lights AND window motors.

A nice ground if testing voltage in the fuse panel with a multimeter is the door hinge, it was very convenient to access.

I also never pulled out a relay before, but those are very simple too...

    Back on the road, Marc

Alligator clips will readily attach to the shifter shaft or shift gate as well for a ground point.

The Euro fuses get corroded at the ends. A long time, standard, first step, diagnostic method was to remove all fuse covers and gently rotate the entire collection of fuses in their holders to reestablish contact and retry the offending circuts.
