    With pins and clips.

When you have the badge off, thread the pins so nuts can be used to re-attach the emblem.

Makes for easy removal in the future, when you wax or want to tidy things up.

David, the Ferrari script is held on by three little pressure clips.
When you open the bonnet, you will see the center one inside a small circular opening, and the outer two under the corners of the carpeting which will need to be pulled back.

As far as the cooling fins go... to remove them, you will need to drill out the rivets that hold them in place.
Originally they were anodized black, but I have seen good results with them painted as well.

    Good Luck!

If you can get the grill anodized again it is definately the way to go. Anodized finish lasts very long term compared to paint and you can freshen them up with a spray product called Shine Em Up.

The louvers on my '79 had been poorly repainted and the paint was peeling. I discovered I could easily scrape all that paint off leaving perfect original black anodizing underneath! Whomever repainted them had drilled the rivets and replaced them with screws making removal easy.

Here's a couple related questions though: the side window louvers on mine were also poorly repainted (but not peeling) and I want to redo them. They're made of some plastic. Is the correct finish matte, satin or glossy? Do all 308 GTS louvers have the silver stripes on each slat, particularly the 1979 models? Thanks!

Not all the GTSes have the silver. My '82 Euro GTs doesn't. Saw another all black one at Tutto Italiano last month. Not sure which years/models had silver & which didn't so can't say for sure about your car.

Btw, when judging Tutto, the presence/absence of silver wasn't questioned.

Art: My 79 308 has the silver stripes on all the slats on the small flat outward edge. I would say that the finish is satin. Now I don't know if the car is all original but i think the louvers are correct as I described.
