When I got home last night, got the itch to take her out for a spin. I checked everything to see if she was ready for the road. Flat tires filled and torque, antifreeze checked, lights worked, brakes worked, air cleaner on, computer hooked up.
I let her warm up good and took her for a couple of spins around the block.

Man, the neighbors are going to hate me now. :D

The crank sensor. I had it bundle up neatly with all the other sensor wires. I removed it and ran it in the back of the trunk. I can't believe there was that much noise bothering it.

Ha! Nothing yet. I'm happy I got her running.

I wonder if it against the law to drive around without the rear bonnet? :D

Clean you engine ground cable. Better yet, remove the existing ground and install one on the other side of the engine - off a bolt holding the starter to the bellhousing.

    Congratulations Chris!
Is the mapping done now or have you just a working map that needs to be fine tuned? Are you planning to take it to a rolling road for tuning and if so we would like to hear how many hp it has now!

Ok, since you have been so close to this project you may need to step back at this point and do a little re-eval.

Basically, there isn't enough "stuff" in the engine bay. I ope that you saved your original hoses or maybe we can find some for you, just hang them in there, and toss in several (8 IIRC) small diameter copper tubing lines with all sorts of bends in them as a start. Wait a few days and then check it again.. I'm certain that with your skills you'll start to see whats missing and where you can add in more "stuff".

.. oh yeah, it looks GREAT!

    Thanks Bert.

I'm still working on the mapping and I got a couple of runs on the road before it snowed. I have been going back and forth with a good friend on the bin files. And it doesn't help when I get home late from work.

Lester, I can't tell if you're being funny. (Funny like ha ha) :)

No, everything I had is sold or tossed away. But I do have the original starter if anyone is interested. :)

Sorry guys, I thought I had posted this.

I got a couple of runs around the block before the snow fell. I didn't want and push my luck out on the main roads.

No registration, no rear bonnet and I hadn't shaven either. That right there I would have been pulled over and thrown in the back seat of the cruiser.

She still needs some tuning and I need to get the exhaust taken care off too.

Do you tune it on a dyno now or what? Sounded quite rough...probably doesn't do the engine much good running like that...or is it just an exhaust issue?
