I have just finish to bottom rebuild the engine of my Dino gt4. I was installing the exhaust system and was checking the six bolt to fix muffler to mainfolds. Those are all different. I put them in ascending length order and look spaced like notes in a pentagram. I thought the "do" was missing, went to buy two new nuts to fix muffler to the holding springs but one is bigger than the other. Probably they represent the "do" in lower and upper octave. Really don't know if it relates to the translation of gregorian notes to english. Do, re mi fa sola si do. I give, king makes me alone yes i give. I'll soon post some picture of the engine, Alessandro
I think I can translate: The exhaust to manifold bolts are of increasing length like the notes on a xylophone. Do re mi fa so la si do being equivalent to the music notes C D E F G A B C. He says the C is missing but probably is made up with the nuts.
no si... ti... tea, a drink with jam and bread! Jeez, I never figured we could make a connection between Enzo Ferrari and Maria Von Trapp. On the other hand, I've often said that many Ferrari exhaust notes are "music to my ears". Its always a treat to see how other people convert engineering to suit their understandings or point of view. Cool. Rick
The car has really 8000 km. Main transmition and gear synchronizers are new. It was built on 1976 and registered in 1977. There is a later stamp at the bottom of the engine "1978". It has been probably rebuilt and upgraded with different pulleys and timing belt. The engine room was hard to clean cause oil impregnate and i can see a "strong" stamp of piston rod inside. Here are some picture, thanks you all, Alessandro. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
