    Hey everone,

I bought that 308gtb at fantasy junction many people seem to be talking about. No cats, early hotter camshafts, and the engine bay is clean enough to east off of. I am looking for some information though.

Anyone know the lift and duration of '75-'78 Euro camshafts compared to US cams of the same years? I am asking because in the future, this may be a project I would find highly rewarding and enjoyable. I see it this way: update the came to a little higher than euro spec, rejet the carbs to match the cams, and blamo, instant faster Ferrari.

Any knowledge regarding this subject would be worth a sticky. The many differences regarding 308 camshafts I am sure is a book all in of itself.

    thanks- john

lots of camshaft threads and data available you'll find interesting with the fchat search function. one thing to consider is to really take advantage of the cams the heads REALLY respond to porting in the 2v.
    sounds like fun! good luck!

I would think that the guys at Carobu Engineering in Costa Mesa, CA (also an FChat sponsor) would be a tremendous resource for any potential 308 modding you might do... Best of luck!

    Hi John

Give QV of London a call. They used to race 308's years ago and they can advise you on exactly what you need depending on your requirements.

I have a 78 Euro spec 308 GTB and I purchased High Comp piston and slightly higher lift cams through QV.

The pistons give increased power and torque throughout the whole range and the cams complement this with strong mid range between 4000 & 7000RPM.

You really should consider changing the pistons and cams together as this gives the best result. The Piston alone give about 30HP increase whilst the cams only give an extra 10HP. (10HP over the std euro spec cams that is)

You will of coarse need to rejet to get the best results, but if you talk to the guys at QV they will tell you all you need to know.

    All the best
