The exhaust pipes on my 308 don't have clamps, just put in place. Seems like a carbon monoxide risk but I have to assume this is how they are supposed to be

Not sure exactly what you mean. Do you mean they don't have hangars?

That system is very solid under there. I dismantled the entire assembly and believe me... it's NOT going anywhere.

Unlike a system on a Mustang, (or I imagine any front-engine car) you don't have long exhaust runners. It's very compact and the steel is very rigid... so, no need for hangars on the parts you showed.

There are two coil hangars for the entire system... they look like this:

There are large thick metal sealing rings (gaskets) in between these fittings which prevent exhaust gasses from escaping past. Yours look very rusted, but still probably doing their job. Replacements are readily available and inexpensive. Image Unavailable, Please Login

This rigid bolted connections is OKish as it has the donut gasket present (although the spring-loaded bolts, with donut gasket, are better/more reliable):

This rigid bolted connection (at the upper right) is not very OKish as the donut gasket is missing:

This is how all of those connections would be when stock:
