Hey all, Any of you with Tubi, Capristo or other after-market exhausts on 308s or 328s in the NYC/NJ area? I posted a thread in the 308/328 section asking for opinions. Considering upgrading my 308 stock exhaust. Would really like to see/hear upgrades in person (not videos ;-) to see what it's like inside and outside the car and whether it's worth it. I know I met one of you recently (beautiful silver/gray 308 w/Tubi) -- So sorry to have forgotten your name. (P.S., specifically looking for 308/328, please -- I know they sound awesome in other F cars and lambos...) Cheers, J.
Hi, I'm usually just here lurking... but I do have an almost identical car to yours, an '84 308QV in black, with a Stebro exhaust that you are welcome to see & hear. I went through the same process earlier this year when choosing an exhaust. I'm in Northern Westchester, let me know if you would like to check it out. Best, Alan
Jawad a friend of mine has a silver 308 with Tubi that sounds PERFECT. The only thing is he is located in central CT.
Alan, thanks -- It would be GREAT to hear the exhaust on your QV. What works for you? Do you ever come down to NYC with the car? Otherwise I can try a drive to you, certainly. Also, you'd be welcome to join us on the August 13 run, too -- check out the thread (we need more F cars, and i would love to check out your black 308 -- always like to see another!) Anyway, let me know what you think is the best and we'll make it happen. Again, thanks.
Jason, thanks. I don't often (never, yet, actually) go up to CT, but we'll see... Hey you should tell your friend about the August 13 run... Who knows, maybe he'll want to come down.
J. - Shoot me an email or PM and we can try to arrange something. I'm in NYC every day - just not with the 308. AlanG
Will do. Oddly enough, on my way to Westchester right now on a chartered bus for a work event (but New Rochelle, which I'm told is sounthern westchester...) BTW, another Fchatter also asked me to invite you to the Summer Run on the 13th... Seems I'm not the only one who wants to hear your car. PM you later... J.
We met at the Wantagh Park meet, gray 84' 308. The car sounds great off the line. At speed over distance you need ear pugs because of the inherent rumble between 3500 and 4000 rpm. I have friends with similar cars with Tubi systems and the rumble does not bother them. I am not sure I would replace the exhaust if ever needed with a Tubi again. Sandy

Sandy, Thanks! I was hoping you'd see this thread. Sorry, I'm bad with names and I was trying to remember yours. Glad to reconnect. Your car did sound awesome from the outside. I guess I just need to go for a ride in one to see what the rumble on the inside sounds like. When I take mine out, I go for a few hours and I don't want to come back with an actual headache... Any chance you'd come on the Summer Exotics run on 8/13 -- first and foremost it would be nice to see you and have another 308 along for the run, of course. Hope you're well, J.
