Hey guys, I needed to remove my 77 308 exhaust today as a replacement is coming next week. I unbolted both pipes and hangars. I wiggled the exhaust every which way but I couldn't get the passenger (long pipe) to clear the axle due to the flange. Is the exhaust supposed to just come out or is there something peculiar I need to know. I ended up sawsalling it but worried I am going to have to remove suspension to hook up the new exhaust. Thanks in advance.
That's a pretty brutal way to get something out of the car. You need to jack the RH wheel up enough so that the pipe clears the drive shaft. With the wheels off the ground there is considerably less space to wiggle it out.
