Does anyone have one of the fuel injector puller tools that they either want to sell or allow me to borrow? I would gladly return the favor if possible. I'd pay for shipping if you were to allow me to borrow it. Or I could buy it from you if you have purchased it and have no use for it now that you have completed your injector replacement. I've spent $160 for injectors, $55 for the plastic fuel line kit, $95 for the wooden tool for the fuel line replacement. If I could save the $90+ for the injector tool, it would be appreciated.

I have the VW version of the puller which is basically a lever action, but for the rear bank, it will be very difficult to get it set up correctly.

    Thanks!

I had no plans to reuse the injectors so I just used a pair of vice-grips on the injector and put a block of wood down on the valve cover to pry against and the stuck injectors came right out with just a little careful force. Rear bank too. Cost: $0.00

    * The injector puller is very cheap and easy to make, I couldn't find the link to the article but here is a photo of the one that I made. Just go to a hardware store and get some copper pipe and a fitting to screw onto the injector and solder them together in a "T" handle configuration with a propane torch. Keep the handle small in size because there isn't alot of room to screw it into the injector.
P.S. make sure to get new seals, the green ones are best.

I have found that my 83 QV has the old black seals with the rubber lip inside the seal. I have purchased the green seals, but they will not work in this application. I have also found that the black seals with the embedded rubber lip that fits into the groove on the injector to be extremely expensive ($250 each!) on Ricambi's site. Here is the picture of what I'm talking about. Anyone with a suggested aftermarket seal??

Nice. What size is that, 3/8"? And the threaded brass fitting/puller coupler?

    Thx :)

Here is what I was talking about. Maybe it's not the correct bushing? The diagram shows 2 o-ring seals and this lager rubber bushing which appears to be the type of seal I have on my car. But I could be wrong. Regardless, this bushing (as they call it) is $259!

That is not the correct part for you. That is the plastic holder (equivalent to your metal screw-in holder) used in a later design. The rubber bushing you need is 114661.

+1...I bought mine from Dennis McCann. They weren't more than $10/each. Check out Verell Boen's puller on Unobtainium.

Found it also in Ricambi for $13,92. Not so expensive!

Sounds about right for materials, and about how much labor did making it take?
    ;^)

    BTW,
I've done a bit of redesign, here's pix of the production tool:
    1st pic: tool's 2 parts
2nd pic: Using it to pull an injector
3rd pic: Using it to press 1 back into place.

Mine is old type, which is one seal type w/o O-ring.
In this case, seal cup and seal would be quiet easy to be removed.
Because all 8 of mine could be removed just by hand, although 2 needed 1-2 minutes with WD-40.
I changed 8 injectors and seal a few month ago.
