Hey Big Tex, you work with the serious stuff - buddy, watch out for that arc flash! I did not know anyone at L-fuse as we were the enemy! A salesman's nightmare, a leggy blonde/brunette/redhead for the competition in his territory! Tough job! I do know L-fuse employees got hit VERY hard as I believe they are 100% offshore now.

Yeah, I go all the way to about 700v - in my tube amps! Still enough to wake you up in the morning, if you are not paying attention. I am not a big Fender fan, I'm a Mashall kind of guy. I played out for years with a 200watt Major pushing 4, 4x12 cabinets. So I'm a partially deaf KT88 or EL34 kind of guy! I would be glad to build a nice custom amp for Lil' Tex that would sound better and be cheaper than a vintage (yuck!) Fender! Sounds like you have got him off to a good start with the blues.

Oh, and from what I can gather, TubeGuy is into the HiFi gear. Those guys think we are nuts, and we think like-wise! THey are looking for clean headroom and we are looking for new and better ways to overdrive, compress, and distort!

Humble pie? Not only one of my favorite all time bands, but also a flavor I know well!

I soldered my fusebox in 1989. I haven't had a blown fuse or electrical problem since. You can talk all day about why you did yours, but the bottom line is that it isn't necessary.

Yes, the small glass ones do have ss ends, but apparently BUSE brand no longer makes them....all the ones I have been able to find are the ceramic ones. They switched back to ceramic two or three years ago. Anyone else found a substitute glass fuse for the ceramic ones?

Well, since I started this thread, guess I should see it through to the end.

Just completed the manufacture of the replacement fuse box this weekend. Here's the new one, and a picture of the old fuse box at the electric fuel pump location. You can now see why I made the conversion to the new style - clear evidence of overheating in this circuit.

Good job, my OEM was melted much more than that, actually melted the plastic base noticably!

We'll move the Marshall VS. Fender discussion to OT and get carreaper involved! ;)

NOW, what are you going to do to remount those fuse covers????? LOL!

A proper installation always includes an updated Panel Schedule on O.C. devices......... ;)

What I did was put both fuse covers one next to another in a photocopier and made a copy of the panel schedule. I keep this along with some replacement fuses and a fuse puller in a small ziploc bag in the glove box. I have not needed it yet but it is nice to know that it is there.

My car came missing one of the covers, so I had to make up new ones in Word, then I glued them inside the dash.
