Hi guys, Just to add the following, I have own(ed) the GTS's, 1x 308 GTS US version #23529, 1x 308 GTSi US version #40279 and 1x 308 GTS QV EU version #58699 and they have all their Pininfarina badge on the driver side, meaning on the left side. And can I join you with blasting through the Piet Heintunnel? May be the Zeeburgertunnel is nicer....
and I have a 85qv vin#52969 and the pininfarina badge on both sides,it looks good but told that was wrong,I don't know if the factory did it or the owners in the past, but I'm not taking it off if its wrong Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
My 1977 Glass car. Pictures taken when the car was a few weeks old and it shows the badge on the LHS (Passenger side in Oz). Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Any info on the '77 glass car for sale in Germany would be very much appreciated. A PM would be great! Thanks, in advance and happy new year!!
Hi Mick, That's the way I understand the badging to be as well. There might be some exceptions. As long as we're posting pictures, I'll add my 1976 North american version fiberglass GTB Image Unavailable, Please Login
So it looks like with 360c car we have this combination that the factory did then. This seems to be the correct conclusion then ? 1976 US and Euro Cars had the badge on the passenger side. The Aussie (R/H) cars in 1976 had them opposite driver side 1977 US and Euro Cars had the badge on the driver side. The Aussie (R/H) cars in 1977 had them on the driver. Does this make sense ? Do we have a US glass 77 to confirm the badging on the driver side then to make certain ?
All- I have a "loop" to throw you for. My '81 308 GTSI North American has no Pininfarina badge (or badge holes) on either side. Stick-on and lost over the years perhaps? But I thought they all had mounting studs that penetrated the skin with fasteners on the inside. No sign of replaced body work that I can tell. Can anyone attest to this situation? Happy New Year All!!!!! mwr4440
There were no 1977 US (North American Version) Fiberglass GTBs. They were made in three groups in mid-1976: 20 in May (19397-19435), 40 in June (19505-19583), and a final batch of 40 in July (19725-19805). Each batch of cars had consecutive (odd) serial numbers.
seems like the rear body panel with recessed rear number plate has RH emblem, and flat rear end panel (std euro spec) has LH enblem.
I was sent a pamphlet last year regarding the certifcation program. I called Italy and spoke with one of the people in the program. I think it makes sense for pre-fiat ferraris (1969) but for anything newer seems foolish. Is your 308 not a 308? what ever
http://www.autoscout24.de/Details.aspx?id=laowhyr1xwid No affiliation. I just used this car as an example for the badge issue.............
I guess Ferrari needs another money making department, and with the new 70,000 sq' ferrari dealer in Ontario which will be North America's largest Ferrari dealer they will definitely need the department to pay the bills.......Rock a 308 is a 308 but how many of them while you are doing a ppi for someone and you just shake your head with the crap you see,For the newer cars only a proper ppi from a Ferrari expert would be needed, but if i was looking for a f40 or GTO a certificate would be nice to have.
thanks, what a mess those interior seats, the wrong mirror on the driver door....hopefully the engine bay not being shown will not have any extra surprises. Hate it when you gotta spend large to make the car right. Thanks for the link !
I have reason to believe this is not an original Vetroresina. Having contacted MMM they do not have original paperwork on the car and I am still waiting for a good picture of the rear. It looks however that this is a steel one with FGlass bodypanels fixed later on.
Hmmm, interesting. Do you have a chassis#? In one picture you can just barely see the rear of the car, and it does not have the white reverse lights in the bumper and neither does it have a smooth area between the taillights (like the Euro FG cars have)but instead an indent for the license plate. Back on topic, this could explain why the badge is on the driver's side
Sorry no #. The wouldnt give at this stage..? I also think I can see the indent for the licence plate, not sure though. Mirrors look like repainted GT4 mirrors.
