first off, let me say that I absolutely love mynew 308 gt4; It is a terrific car. but I don't get how Bertone designed a street car, and a 2+2 even, with a vent over the engine that's not water tight, and is horizontal. I mean in the rain the engine would get soaked. I guess it doens't matter, since per my other thread these cars shouldn't be driven in the rain because of non-existent rust protection. but as a trade guy who looked at the car said "why did they bother to put a cover on th engine." I suppose the engine needs the vent to dissipate the heat, but couldn't they install some kind of raid deflector or something? doesn't porshe have a similiar problem, which they must have resolved. but like I said, it's a great car.

It should have a deflecting tray directly below that vent... Obviously, its missing on your car (that's pretty common actually).

What Porsche? The mid-engine 914 used a rain tray under the bonnet for the four cylinder engines while the six cylinder engines had rain hats over the carbs (thus the engine could get wet at stop lights ;) ).
