Gooding has a 1973 308 GT4 up for auction with a very high estimate....talking DINO money. Very fine restoration, top notch IMHO. However a $500-700K estimate at NO RESERVE?? Hmmh . This will be one to watch ! https://www.goodingco.com/lot/1973-ferrari-dino-308-gt4/?filtersInput[auctionType][0]=Live Auction&filtersInput[auctionYear][0]=2023&filtersInput[liveAuctionVenue][0]=Pebble Beach&sortBy=ENDING_SOONEST&pageNumber=4
It is claimed that this is the model-reveal show car. Platinum to boot. Even so, yes, it will be interesting to see what happens with it...
That comment from @absostone says it all. History and ownership- owned and cared for by the maestro of Gt4s with no time and energy (money) spared in restoration and maintenance. For the desiring collector it is the GT4. @dyerhaus there is hope for us (me) you’re fine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Damn I’m good! https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/149230591/ My justification: Base Car: 1974 Euro in 100% perfect condition. The car was unknown as car #1 for years - though the owner was on here. The car was purchased after being in the hurricane Sandy by Al Ierardi of Naples Classic Car. There are very few shops that specialize in 308 GT4 restoration, maybe two in the world I am aware of. Naples is one of them. Al's restorations have shown and won the highest awards at the Cavalino Classic. They are perfect, despite what we see coming across BAT. We haven't seen many of his cars sell. Again, just my opinion, I think one if his restored cars should be 150-200K all day. You are buying a 100% correct factory museum piece. That valuation does not take into account this is car #1. We are in Ferrari collector dream territory that doesn't come up often. Having the first or last of any car adds on crazy amounts. It sets collectors in a frenzy. I think that adds anywhere 100-200K. Comps - very hard here, but I am going to look at the "other" most expensive GT4 - the 1974 308GT4LM NART car sn0820. That car sold in RM Monaco in 2012 for $904,334 back then. the race car market has boomed so I would imagine that is worth way more now. 246 dinos are still in the 400K range. Thus, my spec evaluation for $400-500 might seem a little more reasonable. I wouldn't be surprised if RM is right on the money. I would say a poor performance would be anything in the $300's, but it is no reserve. Anyone let me know if you want me to accurately price your car!! (Unless you’re selling on BAT which actual value makes no sense…)
Great cars. Probably one of my most fav Ferrari! Beauty and a blast to drive. Que bella machina ......
