There are certainly a lot of threads on modifying ferraris on f-chat and this thread is for those who are concerned with discussions about what is and is not 'original' on the gt4.

I will start off by offering some info on tires. Someone awhile back had requested info about tires originally offered for this car and my '75 owner's manual shows both Michelin XWX and a Goodyear 'Grand Prix 800' tire for the car.

The '79 parts manual shows some rubber 'gloves' for the headlight pop-up motors. Anyone have these? Could this be some 'cold weather' option?

Spare tire: Mine came with a 5-star full-size. The manual shows a 'space-saver' dino-style. Was that just for the earlier cars? Anyone know what kind of spare their car came with?

My 1976 (Jan 20, 11964) Euro came with a space saver spare. The headlight motors had rubber covers either later (Series 2 starting sometime in 76) or it was a US thing, mine doesn't have them. Actually my car is an example of the mythical Italian approach to building cars with whatever happened to be left over in the parts bin that day. Series 2 rims but Series 1 fuse block location.
I'm also a fan of original where possible. The only exceptions so far are 328 rims (still have the originals of course) and electronic ignition. The twin distributors will be replaced with a single this winter.

My euro 75 gt4 came with the spacesaver spare (on a nice alloy wheel) and no headlight motor covers. Yes, electronic ignition was a great improvment

Currently my car has silver on the rough area behind the rear bumper. This makes a sharp transition below to black behind each rear tire. Is this correct? Could someone post pictures of this area from a car with the known correct paint in this area. I don't know if the area behind the rear bumper is supposed to be silver or black.

    Thanks in advance.
