There is a 308 GT4 with 100k miles (rebuild at around 50k). It is a clean clean car with a great interior as well, but it will need suspension bushings. It has a few aftermarket things including wheels, lowered suspension, and exhaust. Like I said, clean car, great maint. history...very well cared for.

What would a car like this sell for? Ive seen several GT4s with much lower mileage in similar mechanical condition go for 18k. How much does the rebuild effect the price despite the high mileage? Rebuild or not the car still has a lot of mileage on the odometer. With the suspension bushings factored into the price what would I be looking at?

I feel like the car should reasonably go for 15-17k. What are your opinions?

Its sounds like an okay offer. I don't think you shouldn't worry about the bushings too much (unless of course, you're looking at them while on a lift and you can see huge chunks missing from the shoulders...). The bushings on my car are pretty gone, but the car still rides and tracks (not the race circuit, but as its driving down the road) straight and true, so I'm not worried.

What was done during this rebuild? Very extensive (head work like the valve guides, did they keep those awful sodium-filled exhaust valves, bottom-end work like rings, etc...), or was it just a belt job?

The Ferrari 308 GT4 is a cool ferrari..

    Good luck..with whatever you decide.

Believe it or not when they first came out..I truly liked the two seater 308 better..

Now over the years even if they are valued less than the two seater version..

I think the 308 GT4 is cooler looking..

I may just be getting older or maybe the car is more contemporary today than its more stylish 2 seater that followed..?

    Anyways..good luck..

Sounds like a great value for a Ferrari 308 GT4..

Not sure 18 grand would be an actual price..but who knows..

Personal target prices usually tend to be a few grand off so don't let a sweet one pass you by..

On the barrett-jackson car search?? program they paided $18k for a perfect one and I thought they were smoking crack thinking they would make money on the car, but I think it auctioned for 30, which seems really high to me. I never would have guessed it would go that high. I honestly don't understand why the pricing is as high as it is on these cars. Nomally 4 seat versions sell well below the 2 seaters, but these prices are putting them about even....so I would have to think that either 308s are currently underpriced or GT4s are curently overpriced.

Well, if it were up to me, they'd be going for at least $100,000... (They are very, very underapreciated).

That said, reality is different. I have been seeing a trend towards higher asking prices, but am not sure what the final selling price is. I told you what I paid for my car, but that was almost 2 years ago.

Does the fact that Dino is the featured marque at CI this summer have any bearing on prices?

Doesn't FML have a price index? Wheres NNO/Carbon/DES when you need him???

Good luck, I hope you finally get one, you deserve it.

When you do get it, tell everyone you paid $20,000 more than you actually did, so it can drive up the prices some more :)

On another note, if you get a PPI done, it can give you a litte more bargaining power. You could point out that the PPI mentioned you need X and Y fixed, which will cost Z dollars, and try to use that info to negotiate a better price.

If the transaxle hasn't been reworked yet I would say it would be due soon with the car at 100k miles. Accurate and complete records, especially of the rebuild, would be required to make an educated guess at what the car is worth.
