308 gt4 stabilizer drop link

Drop links for the anti roll bars? They are natural aluminum on mine.

 

Interesting. Mine are off the car ('77 US spec) while the sway bars are being powder coated, and are assuredly a non magnetic light alloy, which appears to be aluminum to me.

 

Do you mean the bracket that encapsulates the orange sway bar bush ? If so it’s a yellow metal ( when cleaned up - oops !) and suspect “cadmium “ plated ?

Drop links are plain alloy uncoated as you can see . As mentioned the bar is black paint .

Just checked with 2 ogther owners in UK. Definitely cast alu.

The SPC illustrations show that in 1976 that the link is like yours (with the round shape between the two ends), but by circa 1978 it had changed to the Aluminum pieces (with more of a "cross-shaped" shape between the two ends) like shown in post #5 -- and if you ordered one of the earlier 107334 (rear) or 103425 (front) now, you'd probably get the later Aluminum style. Based on the timeframe, I'd guess that a steel suspension part would be Cadmium (or maybe Zinc) plated.

I'd guess tthat the bushings are the same (since the steel part was superceded to the Aluminum part), but you can check the bushing part numbers in those SPC diagrams yourself.
