    When my car gets warm after driving it, my windows and wipers will not work. It appears as though the heat causes a relay to trip. Before I start digging in, anyone ever had and cured this problem.

    Wierd. I've never seen this.

    One thing I might suggest. If you search through the site archives, there is a lot of info on soldering the connections to the fuse box and even some info on replacing the fuse box. This procedure should presumably fix alot of these electrical gremlins.

    Something else that I do is periodically lube all electrical connections/fuses with a contact enhancer (I used Deoxit, other's have reported similar results with Stabilant-22).

    Definitely check the physical integrity of the riveted connections and the plastic material at the fuse (#1) position on the fuseblock and the other positions that are bridged over to the fuse #1 position on the backside as Dom suggested -- you'll also lose the other more important functions (brake lights, water fans, and turn signals) that that fuse #1 serves, so even though the engine still runs, you need to fix this ASAP IMO. (The heat isn't opening a relay, it's softening the plastic in the rivet sandwhich so the riveted connection eventually goes open when heated by the large current passing thru the #1 fuse).

    Some good posts with pictures there.

    I have resoldered several fuse blocks, & have worked around to the following:
    Before you go soldering, try just tightening the rivits. Not a absolutely permanent fix, but the original rivits were tight enough for 20 years. I suspect retightening would give you at least 5, probably 10 years.

    Of just buy a set of custom fuse blocks that take std fuses from Birdman.

    I have gone on record many times with my opinion that the fuseblocks in these cars is perhaps the worst design in the car. There are so many electrical issues that end up being the fuse blocks.

    I have never seen the fuseblocks for a GT4 but if they are the same as the GTB/GTS, I can build you a set that takes normal automotive fuses and will not be flaky like the originals.

    You will be surprised at all the stuff that will magically start working again!

    How can you find out if they are the same? Can you tell from a pic, or a PDF of the page in the owners manual?
