308 GTBi help?

    I'm thinking of buying a 1980 GTBi but i can't find a lot of info about them can some one help me out on this car? maybe where i can get more info on them, there does not seen to be a lot of them around or maybe I'm just not looking in the right place.....i'm looking for price of new belts and trans rebuild and new clutch..also hows the hp & tq on them? ect...

    www.ricambiamerica.com sells all the parts you'll ever need. Surf through the parts pages there.

    Belts are cheap, tensioner bearings not too bad. Do it yourself and it will be only a few hundred dollars. Transmission parts other than seals are shockingly expensive. Replacing a seriously broken transmission with new parts will probably cost more than you paid for the car.

    Fred, other than the roof structure, a 308GTBi is the same as a 308GTSi. And, the 1980 you're looking at is pretty much the same as any 2valve cis injected 308 from '80 to '82. So do a little searching on trans rebuild, clutch and belts replacement, etc. and any thread you get that pertains to a '80-'82 308 is going to be on point for your questions.

    Buying the Fcar is the least exspensive part of the deal! Sticker shock is a way of life with these cars. For us hearing the engine on song through the tree lined roads of the UP makes it all worth it1 Do it and enjoy! still lost

    THANK YOU all for the input and i test drove the car last night and its a mess,not even worth 5k.......i'll keep looking.....
