Hi All Wanting some help valuing a car - Aussie delivered 1980 308GTS Red / Black with 55000kms Has been laid up for the last 10 or more years in the elements with significant rust on the buttresses and boot area behind the rear wheels - Not touched mechanically in that time I don't want to steal the car nor pay too much - Just a fair price for both parties Thoughts ????? dollar wise
You're wrong, you DO want to steal the car 'cos everything on or in that thing will have to come off and get inspected/refurbed or replaced. $10K and I think that would be generous. If it has full books and tools and is Aussie delivery,$2K more.
One of the last carby cars, so in concours condition, somewhere near $200K. Minus rust repairs and bare metal respray ~$50K; interior ~$20K; engine, assuming just needs recommissioning (belts, pulley bearings and gaskets) ~$15K, but $30K if a full rebuild including carbies; suspension and brakes ~$15K; SF repro mags and new tyres ~$2.5K: and let's allow $10K for various electrical gremlins and A/C. So we're talking in the vicinity of $75K tops And I think the $200K is generous
I wouldn't touch it...If that's what you can see imagine what you can't see....Where's PP when you need him.....
Thanks for the feedback - It pains me seeing a car detiorate but understand it could kill the bank Just really wanted to get a fair price Will keep you posted Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
