    Does anyone know if the aluminum rear Boot/Trunk/Hood Release Handle Housing from SuperFormance will fit my 1985 Euro 308 GTS QV #57891? SF specifies that it will fit (208: Turbo); (308: GTB, GTBi, GTSi) as well as TR and 328. I find it strange that it would fit earlier and later models but not the QV. When asked, SF answered that it won’t fit. OK, I could get the complete handle and housing that should fit all 308 but it is more an issue of keeping the original handle if possible than the cost. Reading all threads I could find in this issue makes me convinced that the aluminum reproduction housing is the way to go when the original plastic cracks.

    Unobtanium Supply recasts it in a modern plastic.

    This is the first I have heard of the QV series being unique.
    But they would know...

    Thanks, I will check out Unobtanium as soon as they get their web server in order. It has been down for a while now. I'm in no hurry since "she" sits in the garage waiting for spring. However i would prefer the aluminum housing. (Hoping that SF can be wrong)

    Well... I have bought quite a few parts from Superformance for my Euro QV, but there are several that they supplied for a QV that simply don't fit my QV... valve cover breather hoses, and fuel injection feed line, to name two that come to mind.

    So, I'm not sure that Superformance necessarily would know about QV-specific items! ;)

    The same part # fits QV, 328, TR, 512.

    I have installed several of the aluminum ones and will never buy anything else. They do require a small modification to allow proper fit and operation of the handle but other than that I have been extremely pleased.

    I got mine from GT Car parts.

    Thanks Brian, I will go for the aluminum housing. The replacement part numbers matches between GT Car Parts and Superformance so I guess the housings are from the same producer. Some small adjustments are better than suspecting that the plastic will crack again sometime. BTW, I really like Your home town. Went there for SXSW a long time ago and keep thinking I have to go there again sometime.

    To end this thread I just want to inform that the aluminum release handle housing from Superformance fitted just pefect without any modifications to my 85 GTS QV, in spite of what SF stated. The alu housing has a little bit thicker material than the original plastic. That results in a slightly wider back, making a very tight fit into the body panel hole. But it did fit, looks good and works properly.
