In 30+ years of involvement with 308's I say no such animal exists ex factory!

I stand to be corrected but proof better be 100%

Just for curiosity's sake, except for various assembly numbers behind door panels and such, what other numbers match on a 308? I realize the vins on the frame and the door and the column match, but is there anywhere else?

    Mike...

The original poster being from the UK, the car is probably an "Euro" (and RHD!) and "Euros" do not have a plate on the door jam.

But, back to his original question:
I have never heard or seen any 308 with 328 bumpers, although I know of a very late production 308QV with a full 328 interior (#56483, but I don't know if it is factory original).

So I do concur with you in the end, Mike: what is the VIN of the car?

And there are of course no "matching numbers" stricto sensu for the 3x8, meaning that, contrary to the V12 of the 1960's which had ONE same identical number for chassis, engine and trans, the 3x8 have different numbers for each.
For instance, my April 1989 328 GTB is: VIN ZFFWA19B000081085, chassis #81085, engine 17330, transmission 3916F106MB, (assembly number "08") all factory originals, but not "matching" in the sense of "identical between them", but matching the construction sheet of the car indeed and the original warranty card (chassis and engine numbers are printed on the warranty card by the factory, but not transmission and assembly).
    Glass is engraved "81085XHD"...
