Hey all, Went to pop the rear hatch open on the 308 today and all I got was a "snap!". I removed the handle in the door jamb and saw that the cable broke right where it attaches to the pull handle, just before the eyelet. Sooo.... How nasty of a job is it to replace this bad boy? Also, would a new, OE Ferrari cable include the eyelet? Should I go for an OE part or just make a trip to the local bicycle shop for cable, then to the hardware store for the eyelet? But back to my first question...How difficult is the R&R? Cheers, Aaron '82 GTSi
I think you'll have to remove the left rear wheel well liner, and have a look. Access shouldn't be too tough with that wheel well liner out.... Not sure how tough it'll be to get into the rear latch area. You'll probably have to remove the vinyl boot cover.. Good luck, I'm sure mine will be next! Greg 77 308
Not sure on the '82, but you should be able to find an emergency release behind the driver's seat on the firewall. If not, or if the cable breakage prevents the emergency release from working, read through this thread. I still smack my head for this every once in awhile. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19686&highlight=tesseract Good luck
I did mine on a 328. Should be nearly identical. http://ferrari101.com/forum/showthread.php?t=107648&highlight=328+cable+deck http://ferrari101.com/forum/showthread.php?t=68020&highlight=328+cable+deck
