I have a 1980 308 GTSi. After 44 years, entropy has struck and the material which was the headliner that was attached to the inside of the removable top panel has separated from the roof panel and is hanging. The subject material (tan coloured waffle cloth) is no longer available. It was attached to the 308 line from the late 1970s to the mid 1980s. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has faced the same issue or has repair advice to offer. Thank you. Ron.

You might try ReOriginals in Texas for that headliner, I got some from him and it was perfect. I bought too much and have some left over if interested. The pieces are 63x27 and 12x23 and two pieces 12x19 if your installer thinks that would be enough. $100 + shipping. V.

The head liner is a foam backed cloth. I imagine you have been finding reddish dust in your car as of late. The foam will turn to powder after 40 years and there is no longer any bond between the roof and the material.

When this happened to my car, I very carefully cut the rubber window seal on one side of the roof. Once I had sliced through it the whole liner just peeled off the roof but was held in place by the rubber seal on the opposite side. I was able to remove all remaining foam just by vacuuming it. I then used 3M Head liner spray glue to reattach the head liner and rubber seal back to the roof. Worked great and have had no issues since.
