Can someone tell me what drives the water pump? I think both my alternator and water pump belts have snapped but I am not sure what drives what here as I have never chenged this myself before? I need to what belt goes where.

Alternator & water pump both have separate belts. Both are driven off the crankshaft.

    Steve,
I don't know if they are different in the UK, but on every 308 I have ever seen there are two belts...one for the A/C and one that drives BOTH the water pump and alternator.

There must be variances.....on my car, the water pump and the alternator are driven off the same belt.

Recently, however, I bought a spare Ferrari OEM water pump belt for my emergency road kit.....the belt had the right 'tag' around it, but was clearly smaller than the belt I have on the car and there's no way it would fit.

There are differences no matter the market. When ordering belts we usually have to tell the supplier if it is a 2 or 3 belt system. Some have a seperate belt for the h2o pump.
