308 GTSi Sipea module

I didn’t know that 308s had a door buzzer. Mine doesn’t or it’s been disabled or it stopped working. What year is your 308?

 

I didn't know that they had a buzzer either.

 

My 1978 308 GTS has the door buzzer.

 

My ‘85 has the “buzzer” disconnected. It’s located under the passenger side foot board. I lived with it for a couple of years, then couldn’t take it anymore.

Its been Federal law since the late 60's or early 70's.

 

Please give year/model of 308. Also, how many wires are connected to it, and what is(are) the insulation color(s) of those wires?

 

I was pretty sure of that, I have just never heard one buzzing. I suppose most have been disabled by an owner by now. Or they just stopped working.

 

QV is located behind the left side footwell and the unit is perforated. Mine was disconnected for ten years but now Reconnected it and works great.

Sipea units tend to be relays for the wipers, turn signals or hazards.

Must be a US Federal safety requirement. I don’t believe my 308 has this feature.

 

It was a US federal requirement. My euro QV has one from a Ford.

 

The others have already answered your question, but it's item 124 on your 216/81 OM schematic: "124 - Buzzer operating with unfastened safety belts and ignition key forgotten in the lock".

The two red wires are an inseparable part of the Sipea unit (so are not marked for color on the schematic) -- the Ferrari chassis wires that they attach to should be BR (white-red) and BN (white-black).
