Good morning everyone, trying to get my head around the workings of the electrics in a 308, does anyone know what this module is? Located under the dashboard near the steering column, next to the open door buzzer .
By the way has anyone been able to replace this annoying buzzer with something a little more pleasing to the ear?

I didn’t know that 308s had a door buzzer. Mine doesn’t or it’s been disabled or it stopped working. What year is your 308?

My ‘85 has the “buzzer” disconnected. It’s located under the passenger side foot board. I lived with it for a couple of years, then couldn’t take it anymore.

Please give year/model of 308. Also, how many wires are connected to it, and what is(are) the insulation color(s) of those wires?

I was pretty sure of that, I have just never heard one buzzing. I suppose most have been disabled by an owner by now. Or they just stopped working.

Sipea units tend to be relays for the wipers, turn signals or hazards.

Must be a US Federal safety requirement. I don’t believe my 308 has this feature.

It was a US federal requirement. My euro QV has one from a Ford.

    Hi Steve
It’s a 1981 GTSi us model, I think the buzzers were only put on the US version
Anyway the wires to the Sipea unit are both red
    Thanks

The others have already answered your question, but it's item 124 on your 216/81 OM schematic: "124 - Buzzer operating with unfastened safety belts and ignition key forgotten in the lock".

The two red wires are an inseparable part of the Sipea unit (so are not marked for color on the schematic) -- the Ferrari chassis wires that they attach to should be BR (white-red) and BN (white-black).
