    Hi all my 308 windows are slow and I will look into the suggestions however my window problem is that when fully "up" in the correct position there is still a gap between the top of the glass and the rubber from the targa top. I've searched the forums and can't see anyone else with the same problem.

    Can it be fixed? Its not a door or window problem as the window is fully "up" it seems more like the rubber from te targa top has contracted and no longer covers touches the glass.

    Any direction would be much appreciated.

    The car was purchased damaged and have taken a lot of time to get it looking like it is.
    This is one problem - the other problem is a "knock" on the left hand side/driver side when going over a bump. It is in getting the suspension looked at on monday as it seems to still sit a bit higher on the driver side.

    How is the window against the B Pillar seal? If its sealed properly there then it may well be the targa roof that's the issue.

    The window channels should be adjustable though. You should find them secured with a variety of washers & spacers. I spent ages messing about with these on my 328 last year to get them right - ish! Also look at the gap between the back edge of the glass and the B pillar - is the gap even all the way up? If not the window may be slightly tipped forward/back & that may not be helping.

    Went through the same issue and found that the windows are adjustable by loosening the cable clamps and tiltiling the glass either way. The tracks also have a range of movement. The system is simple and removing the door panel will allow you the access. While in there take the motors out and clean all the wax out. I replaced the wax with a silicone grease and they now move at an acceptable speed and seal well. Lost

    ok ok thanks. Yes I noticed that at back(engine end) of the glass the gap is much bigger than at the front. It is possible that the track has fallen at the engine and exposing the gap.

    The tracks will not fall. They are bolted at the top and bottom but the bottom hole is somewhat slotted. Also if you raise the window toooo high the weather stripping on the targa roof panel will be pushed in and that will deform it. Really , it's a simple design and when you get in there you will understand. Lost

    Your suspension knock is probably Koni Klunk.

    Your shocks need replaced or rebuilt, depending on your preference.

    I think your problem is definitely the position of the glass as located by the clamps that hold the glass to the cable. If the glass is not located correctly it won't run true in the channels and the problem is most evident when the glass approaches the top of its travel. Take off the door cover, loosen the clamps just enough to reposition the glass along the cable, tighten clamps and test. This is a fiddley adjustment so be prepared to spend some time to take more than one swing at it.
