Have just replaced the inlet manifold gaskets on my GT4 and overhauled the carbs. The old gaskets had traces of instant 'goo', this was all cleaned off the heads and the manifolds. Now it wont run properly, i've set the carbs back to basics (3 turns on mixture) and now 1 turn on air bypass. Starts, but is spitting coolant out of the carb throats of the front bank. When it does get going it won't rev, and clouds of white smoke. I'm hoping this is the coolant from the inlet manifold that has found its was in to the cylinders when the manifold loosened!, but the smoke wont clear. I'm not a big fan of instant goo stuff, but 'Should I have put instant goo on the new gaskets??' or try running a bit longer to see if it clears....
This has to be corrected ASAP (since it doesn't "clear") -- you must have a leak and need to reseal the intake manifold to the cyl head -- confirm the flatness on both parts is reasonable and use a sealer (I had to have my ex-308 intake manifold flanges welded-up and remachined flat the removal process was so difficult).
