Anyone know of a source for an OEM (or other) air intake hose? This is for a cabureted 308. It is the hose that goes from the intake on the passenger door to the air filter box. It appears that a rubber hose about 4.5" ID would work.

    Thanks

    Henry

Doesn't look like this was ever answered; I'm looking for the same thing for a '84 Mondial Cab.

Anybody know if an old Chevy part, or something, would work?

I looked for months for an OEM replacement but to no avail. Mike at Superformance told me that he was going to get them reproduced and this was almost 2 years ago. Might want to give him a call.

Check out McMaster-Carr -www.mcmaster.com - they may have something that is close or identical to what you need.

To further my initial post, it is not that I could not find an OEM hose. It is just that spending $80 USD on it was more that I could bear.

I have a spare one for the GT4, I believe it is the same part # as the carbed 308's.

I use to work in the industrial fiberglass business years ago and did a lot of work in the area of chemical handling componets. We used similar, if not identical, hoses to connect duct pipes. My GT4 needs an oil cooler hose so I measured it up, 4" (100 mm) x 12" would work perfectly, 6" long for the carb duct. I went to the vendor that we originally sourced them from, no luck, they are out of business.
Somewhere in Italy there is probably a duct manufacture that sells them for $5.

You "concourse guys" are gonna have a hissy fit when you hear what my PO used for the scoop to air cleaner hose...A 4 inch calder coupling for joining cast iron sewer pipe together - I can feel the FLAMES already---A poop pipe fitting on a FERRARI????

It is cheap - like $6-7 bucks--- just unitll you can get the right part from overseas of coarse.

    your bud,

    with foot in cheek,
    chris

    p.s., it really is true.

I going to try and get something from McMasters. Let me know if anyone is interested. I'll probably have to buy a minimum length.
