    I'm sure this has been discussed before but I can't locate the threads. So please bear with me as I ask again... What is the reccomended paint type and color to refinish all the black louvers on a '84 308? Is the finish a satin, semi gloss or ? Any suggestion as to a brand to use? PPG, Sikkens, XYZ? Anyone have a paint code?

    I have both and the black fender louvers are actually an anodized finish like the engine bonnet.

    No big deal to paint I suppose but it is a satin sheen, definately not high gloss,.......I have seen a gloss black and it was not a good apperance.

    Have them anodized.

    It's what the original finish is.

    i did all my louvers with a spray can product call black satin purchased at most auto supply houses. looks fine.

    Darolls, Are all the louvers anodized? Front fender, front lid, 1/4 windows and engine lid louvers? If so I'll have them all anodized, if I can afford it!

    Yes, they were originally black anodized. Mine got a bit faded and I had them professionally painted with satin black... looks like original and never lost any points on it in concours.
