I'm in the process of changing my alternator and the one I bought to replace has a different type of regulator on it. It's a Bosch regulator, and actually what I'm used to seeing on other cars. But the one on the alt I took off the car is a completely different housing. Old Regulator Image Unavailable, Please Login In order to fit the heat sink on the back I'm going to need to drill the hole a little bigger to clear the "lip" of that new regulator. I believe this is the correct one, at least the only style I've ever seen. You may also replace the brushes, while you're in there!
I bought a new one, that's the one on the bottom with the new regulator. I just want to make sure that it is ok for the 308 as opposed to the original (at the top) which has a square regulator housing.
Yes Bosch uses both regulator, I believe the one on the top is the older version, but works just the same
