What do you think of this one on ebay...It has a 328 front and rear along with the sideskirt, 308 door handles and looks like chrome ferrari wheels. This is the best of both worlds the nice 308 interior although the seats look like pre 80 seats and the nicer 328 outer looks...too bad it does not have a QV engine.....has my interest...think it is a hack job? anyone know of this car?http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300014046281

There's not much market for a Frankenferrari. If you plan on keeping the car forever and you like the modifications, then the next step is to get good pictures of the car and examine it closely.

Right away I can see that the mirrors look non-stock, and it looks like the window louvers have been modified also.

There is something about the front of the car that just doesn't sit well with me. It looks odd. I know its a 302/328 mix, but the lines just don't flow well.

Wouldn't be my choice and I agree, it would be a hard car to sell down the road.

One can only guess why they made it look like a 328. Perhaps it was in an accident. I'm pretty sure that the '81 had the infamous 85 MPH speedo, which means this is not the original speedo, which insures that the mileage is completely wrong. The pics are crap, so it's hard to tell much else. Do not even think of buying this without tons of high resolution pics (post them here for critique!) and a thorough independent PPI. I see that the buy it now reflects that the seller is aware of the highly suspicious nature of the car. I think it's still too high, but not totally ridiculous if it turns out the car is otherwise decent.

    Good Luck.

It probably looks like that because it was a total once before.

Bird and doc are right..also '81 did not have the "basket handle" roof spoiler that the QVs have. Also I had a '81 ..was nice to ahve the injection but was very , very slow for a f-car..drive one first.

Painted lower front spoiler and black grill insert is what makes it look odd from the front. It seems to have some type of side skirt below the doors that sticks out. It has the hood from a QV. Also noticed the NACA ducts on the lower rear quarter panels that were only on the Italian 208 models. Seems like quite a bit of body work, so I'll agree with the prior post that this car was probably totalled at some point.
