Valid point, BUT we all know that the top speed wars that went on back then moved the focus from handling and other important capabilities to 'how fast can it go' BS.

As far as I know also ... no TR has ever been raced in its day in a REAL race series. So nobody thought it was worth even trying ... but they did with the 550 ... or they just wanted to burn money ;) :D

There are a lot of cars on the tracks around the world these days that should not be there. It just depends on how deep your pockets are to make them work.

99.9% of cars can be made effective on the track if your are willing to dump money into them. The question is how much.

My point about the 550GT/C is that it's not a road 550 with a few tweaks.

Agreed about the Top Speed thingy.....

    Agree

    Absolutely agree.

The thing most people do not understand with the TR, 512TR and the M is that they are TOURERS not out and out racers/sportscars. Thus race car like dynamics were not top of the list. I think even the magazines did not understand that ... and I can forgive them because the car is so racy looking.

The BB was a sportscar, the TR was a tourer.
