308 Parking Brake Handle Options?

I've always thought that the black plastic OEM handbrake grab handle looked a bit on the cheap size, looking as if it came from the Fiat Spider parts bin (... which, I suspect, it actually did!).

Mine's in poor condition, so before I replace with a like item, has anyone ever seen any upgrades for this? Maybe an aluminum one, or a wood one (although wood might look a bit out of place?).

Just checking my options!

When I first bought my 308, the very first think I did was to replace the parking brake handle because the metal "arm" portion of it was severly bent (the seller had the new part with the car).

I still have that bent handle, but the grip is in excellent condition (IIRC). If all you need is the grip, I'd be willing to send you the whole thing (bent arm and all) for very cheap (think shipping and a few bucks for lunch....).

PM me if that's all you need and if you decide to go that route. In the meantime, I'll get it out of the box and verify the condition. Can also email pics if that will help you decide.

 

...make that, "the very first *thing* I did..." I really should learn to preview better.

 

sounds like a job for an aftermarketer. perhaps a knurled billet aluminium job.
