Okay, I'm an idiot. Over a year ago I ordered a QA1 setup for my '78 308GTB from a guy on Ebay who was selling the package for less than buying it individually. When I got the shipment, I confirmed that everything was there but didn't look closely at part numbers. My bad. Well, I planned to _finally_ start my suspension rebuild tomorrow, so I started unpacking.... Turns out that instead of DR4855P (F) and DR5855P (R) I received DR5855P (F) and DR7855P(R) (the next longer shock)... And instead of 325-10" springs front and 275-12" rear, I got 12" all around (but the right weights). Now it's way too late to complain to the seller (if he's even around anymore)... so the question is, if I only wanted a slightly lower ride height (I have a deep Euro spoiler and live in the country where I routinely scrape the spoiler anyway) could I get away with using the shocks and springs that I received? (I did plan to use a set of Verell's paperweights on the front shocks to clear the A-arm...) Thanks for any advice! Bill
Bill i run on my 308gtb front shocks DR5855P front spring is 12-170 ........rear shocks DR7855P spring is 14-175 i run my car bit on the low side yes the euro spoiler scrapes avery now and then... the scraping sound is not a nice feeling but have never damaged the spoiler you sorta know if a driveway is gonna be doable or not front of my car sits 660mm to fender lip rear sits 770mm hope this helps good luck mate Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for the comments. Maybe it's the Unobtanium paper weights, but when I fit the 325-12" springs and 55 shocks to the front of my car, tightened down all the way, I'm still about 1" above the old stock ride height. 45's and a 10" spring on order... moving the 55's to the rear and will be selling the 75's and 12-275 springs...
