Me too... Let's review what we know, -No title, but maybe one is forthcoming. -$12K engine "rebuild"...Hmm, 12K won't even buy you a valve job on one of these cars. -Locked up gearbox....Hmm, how'd that happen? The transaxle is pretty much indestructible. And now the pricing are rising on these cars? I'm in for $12K cash, today.
Ok, so... inflation would make that $13K more like $18.5K today. I've paid more than that just in parts costs on my current QV rebuild. Although I am willing to believe that parts costs have increased significantly faster than inflation, I still would like to know what exactly that "rebuild" entailed (or I guess would like to know if I were interested in that engine)
Now that you have 2 ongoing posts regarding your car and engine for sale, I ask if you could limit yourself over the next half a year to these 2 for sale posts for these items. You spammed Pelican and Rennlist with your 993 and sport seats over and over again. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/search.php?searchid=6571571 It became extremely annoying.
Not knocking what you are trying to sell, just asking that you don't spam this board like you did the Porsche boards. I guess your words and reaction speak for themselves.
And now he's banned. However, it's not like he wasn't advised in the past that repeated advertising wasn't a good idea: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?p=140104992#post140104992 Pretty ungentlemanly responses from him in here too. All the best, Andrew.
My intent wasn't really to say that the $12k was a valid number, just to point out the fact that this "2K miles" rebuild is actually 15 years old. When I first read his ad, I wasn't expecting it to have been done in the mid 90s.
Why was his quote in my post deleted? I thought it was quite funny how he insulted me and called me a bad name. I actually thought I was quite nice in how I approached him about not over selling this board like he did Pelican and Rennlist with a Porsche and some sport seats. It seriously went on and on for months and he never clued in to the fact that people were making fun of him.
No but it is true sometimes the quotes will go too esp if it is pretty bad. Dont fret though, no one will forget least of all the FChat police, and most of this stuff is still around in the mod forums just in case.....
Recieved a copy of the engine repairs today as I was mildly interested in the complete car. The $12k was for head work only due to a broken belt, $7k of that just in labor (did include a new water pump though)
"Wind" is also "Fmech" aka "Mark Kahn". Car repaired itself: http://miami.craigslist.org/brw/cto/2473402950.html
Ha! Last I saw there was a posting in Miami CL for a Ferrari mechanic needed to fix a frozen gearbox on a 308, had assumed it was this guy. Lets hope that it is actually indeed fixed, and who knows about the title either. Not that anybody here would seriously contemplate his obnoxious prices, but just to give everybody a heads up that 'Wind' is banned from Pelican Parts for selling a bunk 911 motor. It seems that he had a history there too of selling questionable parts at questionable prices before the 3.0L motor debacle which culminated in court action. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...ear-box-3.html http://forums.pelicanparts.com/searc...archid=6966280
I have talked to this guy a few times and with a reputable mechanic in his area that knows a bit about this car, but did NO work to it. Pm if you want / need details.
