I am in the middle of removing the master/booster assembly on my QV for rebuild and have run into a snag. I have removed the four nuts holding the booster assembly to the pedal box. I have also removed the pin connecting the booster pushrod to the brake pedal. I have also drained the master and disconnected the brake lines from the master. At this point I expected to be able to slide the booster/master assembly gently toward the passenger side and pull the whole assembly out. That didn't happen. I can't seem to pull the assembly back far enough for the mounting bolts of the booster to clear the pedal box. It seems the booster body is running into a raised area of the fiberglass shelf below it. I don't want to reef on it and damage the mounting threads so I figured better safe to ask for advise before doing something dumb. Can anyone outline the "correct" method to extract the booster/master assembly for this car?

BTW this is my very first mechanical adventure with this car. There will be many more to come as the refurbishment continues.........

That is "very" informative. I am 90% of the way there then. Just have to unbolt the pedal box and rotate.

Nice pictures too. And BTW, I agree with your views on adhesives but lacking your expertise I am going to go for the rebuild.

Again, thanks for the timely help as I am out to the shop to continue with this one shortly.
