Well, I'm finally moving to something different...and it's not a Ferrari. I have so loved my 308, but have been looking to buy something new and different for awhile. I've finally decided on the new Boxster S. Friends, if you haven't had a chance to take one for a spin...do it. What a wonderful roadster! It reminds me very much of the 308...balance, etc., but has all the modern advancements and amenities. It's a very different Boxster than the previous model. Quite the sports car...and feels to me to be what a sports car is meant to be: Pure, simple, fun.... I will miss the F-Car, no doubt, but it was time for something new. I'll be back in the stable soon enough, have no fears! Nothing beats a Ferrari. But for now, I'm going to give our German friends a chance, and see what this Porsche experience is all about.

Yes...I'm already asking for forgiveness and will be attending several church services, today, to reacquaint myself with that which is Holy: God....and apparently, Ferrari. :) Don't forget your lost brother...

So, you have been seduced by the dark side. May the force be with you when you return to Ferrari. Actually, a friend of mine had a Boxster and it is a fun car to drive but at the end of the day when you look in your garage..........I rest my case.

There is good in you...I can feeel it. You must let go the anger (and the keys to the Boxter) and rejoin the order. Together, we can all defeat the Sith...eh...Porsche!

yup! you have picked the best. The boxter has beat all comers in the 700 ft. slalom, including the Enzo. You might consider waiting a few months a get a Cayman S witch is already faster than the 911

    Gary 48,

Thanks for the support. I considered the Cayman, but I love roadsters. Something about that open cockpit speed! For the 3 years I've owned the 308 (It's still mine and in the garage...deal is completed on Friday) I almost never drove it with the top in place. Love the wind/bugs in my hair :)

interesting that you mention the Cayman. I saw an ad for it in the recent DuPont and it looks gorgeous in profile, ...and in silver!

    Gary 48,

Thanks. But against some of my best financial judgement, I'm going to buy a brand new car. Question, though...test driving that thing I detected kind of a burning smell. Not a clutch or brake smell, but something different. Any ideas? Smell of a new engine being broke-in? That's what the dealer folks said. What are your thoughts? Thanks.

After 18,000 miles on my roadster I still get a little of that smell, I think its a cat thing. No worries and oh! ya the Cayman does look fantastic in silver.
