Greetings, and Happy new year a bit early. So, for the new year I decided to replace my old cracking suspension bushings and while there why not the original koni shocks. I've been reading all the threads and Birdmans docs on doing the procedure.

But, question, if you don't overly care about lowering the vehicle would you do the QA1 replacement option or put back on the Koni? There happens to be a set of Koni and springs (rebuilt by authorized dealer in OH) on ebay. If ebay didn't work out, do the original springs need replaced with the shocks? I assume so???

Is the current recommendation for bushings still the energy brand in Birdmans article???

    Thanks
    jim

My current winter's project is doing exactly this same job.

I am replacing the original old stock A-arm bushes with poly, bought thru Nick's Forza. This allows the new bushings to easily fit into the original OEM welded outer shells, as shown in the old Birdman thread here.

New Koni shocks, retaining original springs. Work done by one of the only two Koni factory authorized service centers, who fortunately are local to me here in Ohio.

"While you are at it", sand blast and powder coat the A-arms and coils in satin (arms) and semi-gloss (springs) black.

US Version. So are those the ones that you can leave the factory tac welded sleeve in place and use the internals of the new ones?

No, these are the ones to replace the whole bushings which means tac weld has to be grinder and press out the outer sleeve.

Seems like the ones birdman points to are much easier to deal with?

    Yes. Considerably so.

Please re-read that which I have already told you (which included the supplier source):

"I am replacing the original old stock A-arm bushes with poly, bought thru Nick's Forza. This allows the new bushings to easily fit into the original OEM welded outer shells, as shown in the old Birdman thread here."

I did read your post, as I already stated, I also read Birdman's excellent write up, I was commenting on having to tac weld vs Birdmans solution. But thanks again for letting me know that Nick Forza sells them along with many other sources for the energy solution.
